How to Unlock the Champion (Secret Character)

ARC SYSTEM WORKS and PlayStation announced that Tōkon would launch with 20 playable characters — but there are actually 21. The Champion, the main antagonist of the story, is a hidden playable character. Here is the fastest way to unlock them.

Step 1: Beat one full story in Episode Mode

There are five different stories in Tōkon's Episode Mode, each following one team. You only have to beat one of them to unlock the Champion as a playable character. The stories are fairly quick to clear — holding the skip button lets you fast-forward through all the panels and cutscenes.

Step 2: Know the fights

The first few battles are standard — spamming single attack buttons to use your auto combos will carry you through most of them. Two fights need extra attention:

• The Promoter: build your Skill Gauge to maximum and unleash an Assemble attack. Dodge or swat away her projectiles to build meter, then input the command. The easiest way: mash Light Attack with 150 meter — on the last hit of the auto combo, the Assemble attack is unleashed.
• The Champion: the boss has three phases. If you die during any of them, simply lower the difficulty from the continue screen.

Step 3: After the credits

Once the credits roll, you will get a message that the Champion is available to select as a playable character.
